Open v Closed Rentals

  • During closed rental events, club members and their guests may only be present in certain areas designated by the renter during the event. Members will, however, still have access to their boats in the boatyard; as long as it is only for retrieving, washing down, or returning their boat to it's parking spot. This will be done in a timely, quiet manner as to not disturb the rental event.

Member Events and Member Sponsored Events

Members may host their own events of any size and will be charged member rates. Non-members may host events that are sponsored by a member or members of the club and be charged member rates. The requirements for both of these types of events are:

The member(s) or member sponsor(s) will:

  • remain at the club as part of the event for the entirety of the event
  • sign in with the bartender on duty before the event begins and will sign out with the bartender on duty at the conclusion of the event.
  • be named on (and sign) the event contract and communicate agreement to all of these requirements with the event coordinator.

  • No events or setup may begin before 1pm on Sundays due to brunch service.
  • No events may be scheduled over the course of a holiday weekend or on any national holiday.
  • No closed rentals may be scheduled on Fridays. The galley and outdoor grills are not available for event use on Fridays for open rentals.
  • The scheduling of all events is at the sole discretion of the SDMBB&SC event coordinator, in the best interest of the club and its members.

Damage & Cleaning Deposit

  • A minimum $200 deposit will be required as a cleaning fee.
  • A credit card will be kept on file and will only be charged an additional amount in the case that there is damage to any club property or necessary excessive cleaning that is deemed to be the fault of any guest or vendor of the event.
  • It is the responsibility of the contract signer to remove any and all decorations installed for the event. If the galley is used, it must also be returned to clean working order (including the outdoor grills). Failing to do these thing may result in additional damage and cleaning charges.
